Club SciKidz is the best place under the sun for extraordinary summers. Bob and Sue Hagan founded Club SciKidz in 1997 and built one of America’s finest summer science and technology camps. Together, Bob and Sue bring over 30 years of combined teaching experience. Both hold a Master’s Degree in Education.
The very first summer camp carried the name “Special Effects.” That camp taught children the real science behind Hollywood’s special effects techniques. It was an instant hit with curious kids.
As the program grew, Bob and Sue added new age groups and science themes every year. In 2001, they launched Camp Young Scientist specifically for children in grades 1 and 2. Since then, Club SciKidz has grown to offer over 70 themed STEAM camps — and the list keeps growing. Today, kids in grades PreK through 8th can choose from more science adventures than ever before.
In addition to summer camps, Club SciKidz expanded into a full-service science enrichment company. We now run after-school science clubs, Robotics programs, school science assemblies, in-school field trips, and teacher workshops. We also deliver 30-minute science workshops directly to pre-schools throughout the South Bay and Orange County.
We believe we have the most extensive science enrichment offering in the world.
Club SciKidz exists because parents want exciting, challenging, and life-changing experiences for their children. Because of that belief, we bring real-world science into everything we do. Our programs cover veterinary medicine, Mini Medical School, Drones, 3D Printing, Pokemon, American Girl, Wizarding World, Lego Robotics, forensics, video game creation, food science, paleontology, engineering, chemistry, biology, astronomy, oceanography, emergency medicine, and special effects.
Furthermore, we continually add new themes every year. For Summer 2026, we added AI and ChatBot Technology, Drone Piloting, and 3D Printing with Minecraft — reflecting the skills kids will need in tomorrow’s world.
Since 1997, more than 100,000 children have attended Club SciKidz science day camps and school programs. Today, Club SciKidz offers over 70 themed STEAM camps — one of the largest science camp theme libraries in Southern California. For Summer 2026, we proudly operate three locations across the South Bay and Orange County: Torrance, Costa Mesa, and Laguna Beach.
Our science programs serve children ages 4-14 (grades PreK through 8th grade). Each camp uses carefully researched lessons that engage students in observation, measurement, and hands-on experimentation. Science educators develop every unit with input from teachers and children. As a result, kids genuinely enjoy the learning process and carry those lessons well beyond the summer.
Additionally, Club SciKidz South Bay and Orange County holds official accreditation from STEM.org — an independent verification of our commitment to curriculum quality, academic standards, and hands-on learning excellence.
